Farmington Canyon

We decided that we were going to do a lot more camping this year.  My girls are getting old enough that it doesn't feel so hard to get them out so we made it a goal to do more outdoorsy things again.  My girls not only look like their dad but they have inherited his passion for the outdoors as well.

The hardest part about the trip was just getting up the canyon.  The girls think that everything should just be immediate and they don't want to wait for anything.  This is actually the reason we decided to start camping again because you don't need a watch or electronics in the mountains.  Everything slows down there.  There's no rush to get somewhere or any unwanted noises, just family time.

We got to camp and the girls found some rocks and bugs to play with while we set up camp.   Lauren wanted to help Jon build the fire...

she decided she wasn't too fond of it.   :)  While I made dinner this is basically how it went.

They found a little caterpillar and named him Twizzle.  We went on a hike later to watch the sunset, it was beautiful!!

Basically your typical self timed photo, I love Taylor's head poking out in the back.  We went back and roasted marshmallows and told scary stories and then we were out for the night.
